Next Boone Movie Night is Friday September 3rd
The next Boone County Movie Night for the year is on Friday, September 3rd at 7 p.m. outside of the Union Community Building off Old Union Road. The movie is "Furry Vengenance" and will begin at dark. Concessions will be available along with the inflatables for kids. More information is available at www.BooneMovieNight.com.

Drainage repairs to Golden Grove Lane
A Boone County Public Works crew has been working on Golden Grove Lane in unincorporated Boone County to correct a drainage problem. A natural spring causes the properties’ sump pumps to run constantly with the water draining into the street. Unfortunately this results in an algae problem in the summer and thick ice to form in the winter. The crew has placed a perforated pipe that is connected to the sewer system along the side of the road to collect the water and drain it correctly.

Boone County Fire Training Center
Fire Fighting personnel attend a workshop in the Boone County Fire Training Center located on Conrad Lane, Burlington. The Fire Training Center is a joint venture between the Boone County Fiscal Court and the Boone County Fire Chiefs’ Association. Participating departments use the center to help fire fighters learn in real life scenarios and through classroom experiences. The center opened in 2008.

Employer Support of the Guard Ceremony
Last Friday at the Boone County Sheriff's Office, a ceremony was held recognizing companies who support their employees who are also members of the National Guard. The Employer Support of the Guard Ceremony recognized GE–Aviation: On Wing Support group located at CVG for their support of US Marine Eric Anderson, a Boone County resident (left).
Boone bolsters voting machine privacy
Burlington, KY–The Boone County Fiscal Court has voted to purchase 121 privacy booths for the new optical scan E–scan voting machines. The Boone County Board of Elections requested the purchase in response to privacy concerns from voters in the May 18 primary election, which was the first time the new voting machines were used.

Farms still making it in Boone
Burlington, KY–Eve Vaske says she was born and raised on a farm so in Boone County that’s been all of her life. Vaske, owner of Vaske Produce in Walton, said the farm has fresh eggs, produce, tobacco, cattle, hogs, hay, straw and firewood. The farm was purchased in 1972.

On Saturday, Sept. 11, join us at Union Pool for our Dog Days Pool Party. Boone Considers Tax Break For New Jobs
Burlington, KY– The Boone County Fiscal Court is reviewing a tax incentive for Pemco World Air Services Inc. which is leasing what was a vacant facility at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport in Hebron.
